Story for Radio Newsday 17/04/2008
The sister of a woman who died during childbirth in Winchester hospital, is facing deportation back to the Phillipines.
Jas-min Pickett’s sister Narissa came to the UK, to help her brother-in-law care for her nephew.
She has now been told by immigration officials to travel to Heathrow and leave the UK by 8pm tonight.

this is a fantastically strong story – reminds me of woman from Ghana who was deported and died when she could not get kidney treatment. Really strong human interest angle, and well written – punchy and in classic style.
